KEN’S COMMUNICATION STYLE

It’s an admirable fact that Ken Evoy seems so eager to share his vast abundance of knowledge about Internet marketing with all his SBI! subscribers. But the main drawback to his eagerness to impart his wisdom is that, in all his communications such as ebooks and newsletters, he tends to write in a long-winded, rambling style, somewhat reminiscent of--dare we say it?--a kindly old grandfather.

It’s not senility--Ken Evoy is definitely a sharp and well-spoken individual. But conciseness is just not his strong suit. Sometimes you’ll find yourself reading what seem to be needlessly long newsletters or other communications from Ken, wishing he'd just get to the point. It can’t be denied that there is a considerable treasure to be found in all his verbosity; we just wish he’d trim off the fat!

NOT THE VERY BEST TOOLS

As we mentioned as one of its strengths, SBI! has an impressively wide range of tools, and they are all indeed quite useful. But on a strict individual tool-by-tool comparison, there are better tools available out there.

The benefits to SBI!’s tools are that, collectively, they are very inexpensive, and they are nicely integrated into a single system--you don’t have to worry about managing different tools from different companies.

We're not saying SBI!’s tools are slouches, because they're definitely not. Overall, we’d rate them as “good” to "very good" in terms of power and flexibility, with some tools betters than others. But if we liken toolsets to cars, SBI! is like a pickup truck--utilitarian, useful, gets the job done, but definitely not a turbocharged race car.

If you wanted your toolset to be more like a sports car than a pickup, you’d have to admittedly build one yourself by hand, piece by piece. But if you have the technical ability to build websites and a good grasp of Internet marketing--and are willing to pay the price--you could ostensibly put together a “Ferrari” of toolsets for yourself.

SBI! does allow some degree of integration with a number of third party tools of your choice. As one example, you could use Trellian’s top-of-the-line Keyword Discovery Enterprise tool instead of SBI!’s BrainStormIt tool, but you’d pay $495 per month for the benefit.

So your two choices are: buy the SBI! “pickup truck” for $299, or learn the necessary skills and pay more (possibly a great deal more) to build a custom “sports car” by hand.

Bottom Line

Overall, SBI! is a remarkable achievement. Yes, it has its share of shortcomings, but its positive aspects cannot be overlooked. You have to think about what a system like SBI! was designed to do. You have to consider what you want to get out of your business, and evaluate whether SBI! helps you accomplish that goal.

When it comes to helping home business owners establish online businesses that actually make money, SBI! does it very well. While SBI! does have decent component parts, it may be one of those rare products where the whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts.

If you happen to be an absolute Internet beginner, SBI! will likely become your lifeline. We honestly can’t see a beginner building a successful e-business without some form of guidance or assistance. SBI! will remove a huge chunk out of your e-business learning curve by letting you focus on the business aspects of your e-business rather than the technical aspects.

If you’re new to e-business, there really isn’t another choice. Run, don’t walk, to SBI!

Even if you‘re a fairly knowledgeable Internet veteran who’s comfortable with D-I-Y, SBI! can still offer you many advantages, either by teaching you the fundamentals of Internet marketing that you never learned, or automating numerous tedious aspects of website-building. In fact, many SBI! owners are actually certified webmasters, yet they still prefer to have SBI automate many of the mundane tasks associated with building websites, rather than doing it all by hand. And the wide variety of research tools provided will continue to prove useful regardless of your skill level.

After some serious thought, we came up with the following hypothetical person who might not benefit from SBI!: You’re one of those talented individuals who has both the technical aptitude to build websites combined with good marketing skills. You truly enjoy D-I-Y and dislike giving up even a bit of control. And you want to assemble your own set of top-of-the-line tools, regardless of price. For someone like this, an advanced Internet marketing course may prove to be a better choice than SBI!

For the rest of us, SBI! -- warts and all -- simply delivers tremendous "bang for the buck." When it comes to building a viable e-business, SBI! takes you from concept to completion. No other product on the market can make that same claim.

In many ways, SBI! is not slick or flashy, but the most important thing is that it gets the job done, and gets it done superbly at that. Remember, e-business “is all about the profits.” And you simply can’t argue with SBI!’s proven track record of success.
